Honey
Local honey
Our pure raw honey comes from our beehives and other local beekeepers. Bees have fed mainly on Paperback tree (Melaleuca). Honey is available in glass jars and plastic tubs.
Honey comb
Comb is freshly cut straight from the hive frame into plastic containers.
Manuka honey
In Australia, Manuka honey is produced by bees that feed on the pollen of trees from the Leptospermum genus. It’s been used for years as a natural remedy for a variety of minor and major ailments.
It’s recommended to look for Manuka honey that is UMF certified. The UMF grading system will give you an idea of the quality of the honey. UMF stands for “Unique Manuka Factor” and it measures antibacterial activity. A UMF rating of 10+ is considered a high quality honey.
There are 2 other rating systems: Non-Peroxide Activity (NPA) and Methylglyoxal (MGO).
The UMF 10+ rating is equivalent to NPA 10+ and MGO 300+
